“Buhari Won’t Resign Over NDDC, EFCC Corruption” – FG Replies PDP

The Federal Government has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari will not resign over alleged cases of corruption in Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
This is following the call the opposition party, People's Democratic Party made on July 24, urging President Muhammadu Buhari to step down over alleged corruption in federal agencies.

Prince Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the PDP during a press conference on Friday, accused Buhari of abandoning his promise to fight corruption during electioneering campaigns in 2015 and 2019.

He cited the ongoing corruption investigations of the Niger Delta Development Commission, North-East Development Commission, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and others, stating that Nigeria under Buhari’s watch was on a ventilator gasping for breath.
However, at a briefing in Abuja, The Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed made the government’s positions known by describing PDP’s call for the resignation of Buhari as infantile.

Lai also said the anti-graft war is not waning and the government will not spare anyone implicated in corrupt practices.
