MOCPED Lecturer, Student Shut Dead By Gunmen In Lagos

A lecturer identified as Ahmed Saheed and Razak Bakare, an undergraduate student of Michael Otedola College of

Primary Health Education (MOCPED) in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State have been killed by gunmen.

According to reports, the student was shot dead on campus while the lecturer was said to have been killed around Poka town in Epe. Both incidents happened within 48 hours interval.

Lawmakers and traditional rulers of the communities confirmed the unfortunate events saying that while the student was trailed and killed on Wednesday, the lecturer was shot dead on Friday.

The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, condemned the killings as he urged the law enforcement agencies to hunt down the perpetrators.

The monarch pledged that the traditional institution would ensure that all efforts were taken to fight against such ugly trends in the community.

Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshoyin of Odo-Noforija, in Epe Division, said the peaceful nature of Noforija town had been shattered by the unfortunate killings. He called on the management of the institution to install Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras within and around the school premises, while also appealing to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, to deploy more security personnel in the community.
