“It Wasn't A Prank. We Thought She Drowned”— DJ Michelle's Sister Shuts Down Rumors

The sister of Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Michelle Abesin, who was presumably drowned, has shut down rumours insinuating that the DJ faked her death.

It would be recalled that Stella Abesin had cried out on Saturday, November 20, that her sister had drowned at a Lagos beach while people watched.

 “My sister did not deserve this, I can’t breathe. They all stood there and watched her drown. God, where’s my sister?? Where’s her body?” she had posted.

 However, the 21-year-old DJ was rescued alive from the beach 24 hours after she was presumed dead. Some social media users who saw the reports started insinuating that the whole thing was a script, and that the family were scheming to get popular.

 Taking to her Instagram account on Sunday, November 21, Stella said contrary to the rumours making rounds on social media, the incident wasn't a prank, adding that they all thought Michelle had died.
Here's what she wrote;

“Just to be clear, this wasn't a prank. We thought we lost Michelle and we are lucky to have her back.

 “We plead to the public to stop making bad jokes about something this sensitive and also Michelle has no access to phone or social media.

 “To our friends and families, thank you for your prayers and support.”

 She added that someone was impersonating Michelle, asking the public for money.

According to her, Michelle has no access to her phone or her social media acounts at the moment.
