Christians Without Voters Card Should Be Banned From Religious Activities — Bishop, CAN

An Anglican Bishop of Asaba Diocese, Justus Mogekwu, has asked churches to ban Christians who do not have Permanent Voters Cards from taking the holy communion.

According to the Bishop, churches should insist on parishioners presenting their PVCs before participating in any religious activity.

Speaking during a sermon on Sunday, Mogekwu said; 

“Christians must actively get involved in politics to enthrone good governance at all levels. If men who are righteous and fear God are in power, the people rejoice.

 “Pastors should ensure their members get their PVCs before they take communion and do other worship services in the household of God. 

 “As communion is important to us as Christians, which makes us healthy, spirit-filled and very strong, it is such with the PVC that makes us enthrone good governance at any level.” 

 After his sermon, he prayed for good leaders who would move Delta State and the country forward, while commiting the coming elections into God’s hands.  Also insisting that church goers get their PVCs, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Delta State Chapter, has mandated that all churchgoers must have it before engaging in worship at their respective churches.

 This was made known by the CAN chairman of the Patani local government area, Kofa Ithanasius, who noted that Christians who refused to vote during the election were committing a sin and as such, must not complain when evil men are ruling.
