Port Harcourt Serial Killer, Gracious David-West Sentenced To Death By Hanging

A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital has convicted Gracious David-West of eleven out of the fifteen murders he confessed to have committed in hotels last year and also for the attempted murder of Benita Etim.

From July 2019 until September 19, 2019, when he was finally arrested, David-West was suspected to have killed at least 15 women, mostly in the city of Port Harcourt.

After his apprehension, he confessed to a total of 15 murders. He also revealed how he threatened his victims with a knife, tie their hands and legs (often with the bedsheets in the hotel rooms), strangle them and steal their phones and identification cards. 

Justice Adolphus Enebele, who presided over the case, said the prosecution team was able to convince the court that David-West was the killer of the women.

Meanwhile, the second defendant, Nimi ThankGod, facing a one-count charge of misconduct with a corpse has been discharged and acquitted.

In his judgement, Justice Enebele pronounced death by hanging as the prescribed punishment for Gracious David-West.
