Protest Rock Kwale In Delta State, As Ndokwa Youths Insist Agip Company Must Go

Youths and women of Ndokwa ethnic nationality have on Thursday, August 13, stormed the Federal Government-

There is total lockdown on the road as stranded motorists and travellers have resigned to fate, seeing the heavy mobilization for the protest.

They complained among other things that the federal government was serving other parts of the country with electricity drawn from Okpai Power Station in Ndokwa land, while the people were left in darkness.

According to reports, the number of protesters increased to several thousand as at 8:30am, as more villagers joined with dancing while many others stood or sat on the expressway.

The protesters who carried placards also want Nigeria Agip Oil Company, which is operating in the area to quit Ndokwa land as some of the placards read; “Agip must go”

Mr Juan Ameechi, the Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State, arrived the scene of the ongoing protest, pleading with them to lift the siege to the Kwale/Asaba expressway.
