Kastina youths from Yangayya had carried out a peaceful protest on Saturday, May 16, asking the government to come to their aid, as armed bandits have continued to wreck havoc in their communities.
This morning however, the protesting residents expressed their anger by burning down president Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Bello Masari's billboard due to growing insecurity concern in the state.
Hundreds of people have been killed since the year began by criminal gangs carrying out robberies and kidnappings in northwest Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari, in a statement, had said he would not tolerate large scale killing of innocent people by criminal gangs but the killings are ongoing.
