Owner Of Prodest Hotel In Tears As Gov. Wike Begins Demolition (Pictures)


The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has made good his threats, as he begins demolition of hotels which flouted the lockdown order put in place to curtail COVID-19 in the state.

The governor had threatened to demolish any business place or hotel not keeping the rules.

While addressing the media in a statement, he had said the task-force must be decisive to ensure that coronavirus is not accommodated in Rivers state. 

Governor Wike reminded them that they are being drafted to fight an invisible enemy and their duty is to defend Rivers people. 

“Nobody should come from outside to compound our problems. Then you want to import this invisible killer. We will not allow that.

“If we allow what is happening to continue, we don't have the capacity to face it. And there will be no support from any quarter,” he had said.
However, the government revealed that two hotels: Prudent Hotel at Alode, Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel in Onne, would be demolished after finding out they flouted government’s directive on the closure of hotels.
