“The Politician That Bought It For Me, Will Stock Up My Shop Again” — Uche Elendu Reacts To Rumors

The actress cum business owner also expressed her disappointment in a particular rumour that spread like wildfire during the #EndSARS protests, when her shop was raided and looted.

According to her, some people said that she stopped crying when she lost all her goods because the politician who opened the business for her will restock it.

In a recent interview, Elendu said all the speculations were a case of gender inequality, adding that women can be independent.

“I don’t know why people don’t understand that women are now independent. Several times, false judgment has been made against me in that regard. Women work hard to make a name for themselves and they do not want to be swept under the carpet,” she stated. “Personally, I work so hard to be financially comfortable. But, despite my hard work, if I buy a car or a house, some people would still say, ‘Who is the man bankrolling her’? That is gender inequality and people do not understand that everybody is not the same.
