Twitter Wars: David Hundeyi Drags Bashir El-Rufai Through The Mud

Twitter was not a safe place last night for Bashir El-Rufai, son of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as a Nigerian investigative Journalist, David Hundeyi, dragged him by the ear over a tweet.

It would be recalled that David Hundeyin dug up the archive that most people in the religious establishment of northern Nigeria know but would rather prefer to be silent; on how terrorism started in the North.

David, who is the founder of West Africa Weekly, shared an article titled, “Cornflakes for Jihad: The Boko Haram Origin Story” — which made headlines in October 2021. The article explained how the money sold from Nasco cornflakes was used to sponsor terrorism in Nigeria.

It would also be recalled that a couple of days ago, the US removed Nigeria from their ‘Religious violators’ list.

Taking to his Twitter handle to gloat on Thursday, Bashir mocked David's article as he shared a link to the reports that Nigeria was no longer in the list of Religious Violators.

“‘Cornflakes for jihad’ in poteaux poteaux,” he wrote.

The tweet, which Bashir later deleted, did not go down well with the journalist, who proceeded to tear him limb from limb, as they exchanged words.

See some of the exchanges; “Thanks for telling us how your mom got VVF. My dad paid dowry and had a wedding instead. I know the concept is strange to bride kidnappers like the El-Rufai family, but all fingers are never equal in this life, Bashir. Don't be upset.” — David

“Lol something everyone knows. Your father paid no dowry when he accessed the baby factory your mother was located in. The only funds he gave was to the gateman. All fingers are never equal, you're correct.” — Bashir

“Lol when your daddy was squatting in Accra inside Dr Chife's house all those years ago, we had a suite at the Golden Tulip, Bashir. New money l'ón fi omodé pariwo. Poor people.” — David

“I would have believed but you saying you had a suite at Golden Tulip gave it away. You couldn't have afforded it. Yan bura uba no money Sai shirme” — Bashir

“For more on this, we now go to the short man himself @elrufai . What is your take on the widely held opinion that you are a crass, noveau-riche wild animal who has raised a couple of degenerates like yourself?

Over to you Nasir.” — David

“Widely held belief by you & your ilk? We welcome it. And he won't answer you, too much money.” — Bashir

“Not Bashir El-Rufai talking about "too much money." "Too much money" but when your daddy was FCT Minister in charge of the roads in Abuja, it was a bad road that ended your brother's life in that car accident. But you have money. Toilet elite.” — David
