Hoodlums Storm Police Station, Beat Constable To Stupor, Cart AWay Rifle In Delta


There was pandemonium on Sunday, July 19, at Orogun community, Ughelli North L.G.A in Delta state when some hoodlums reportedly attacked a police station in the area.
According to reports, the hoodlums pounced on the only officer who was present during the invasion to coma and carted away an AK-47 rifle and 30 rounds of ammunition.

Trouble started when the police had earlier attempted to arrest a suspect whose mother perfected his escape. Following the incident, the mother was arrested and detained at the station. 

Her son then went to the station threatening to deal with the officers.

A source who witnessed most of the event revealed that;

 “The constable and inspector had gone to arrest a suspect but the suspect’s mother locked up her son who later escaped arrest. 

 “The mother was arrested and taken to the police station. The other children mobilised to the station and threatened to deal with the police for arrest their mother.
“In the night, the constable was alone in the station sleeping after the inspector and criminal record officer had gone home when the hoodlums stormed the station and carted away his weapon after beating him to stupor.”

Nicolekaima.com learnt that, subsequent to the attack, the police have started a house-to-house search in the community for the weapons stolen by the hoodlums.
