Nigerian Policeman Kills Young Man Over 100 Naira

A police officer has reportedly gunned down a young man in Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa
state because of N100 bribe.

 The deceased was identified as Arabo Dauda. He was just 20 years old according to sources. Dauda was a motorcyclist just going around to earn a living like everyone else until he met his death on Tuesday, June 2, from a trigger-happy policeman.

It was gathered that Mr. Arabo Dauda was just passing the police check point with a can of fuel he just bought from the filling station, when he was stopped by the police man.

The police officer asked where he was heading to and after all the questions he demanded for 100 naira from Arabo before he can be allowed to pass through.

This incident has sparked outrage in the community as the Chairman of the local government council, identified as Dr. Idi Aminu has taken the case to heart and assured residents that justice must be served.

“The youths of the community are demanding that the policeman or men involved in the killing must be killed as well,” he said .

adding that the policeman ran to some soldiers to seek refuge. The chairman also said that he made sure jungle justice was not served and he followed the case till it got to the police headquarters in Yola.

 Investigations are still being carried out. Though the police public relations officer of Adamawa State, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, has not made any statement about the incident as of the time of filling this report.
