Barr. Mrs. Vivian Ottih is the State Chairperson of Female Journalists in Imo State. She made the post protesting over the non payment of salaries of her members working at the state owned radio station, IBC, who according to her, have not been paid since January, the former governor, Ihedioha left office.

Acting on the instructions of Gov. Uzodinma, the commissioner for information Mr. Declan Emelumba mandated the management of IBC to sack her for coming publicly to bemoan the fates of the suffering IBC workers.
It was reported that she was given a warning query, which stated that she had caused embarrassment to the government by her actions, and asked her to explain why she shouldn't be sacked.

According to reports, for daring to speak up for her co-workers, the government have gone ahead to issue her a second query which stated that she was to go on an indefinite suspension from work, which is almost equivalent to a sack, even though she is currently on a maternal leave.
Vivian Ottih has worked with the state owned radio corporation for over 20 years rising to the rank of a senior staff. She only recently just put to bed few weeks ago.
