Why Should A Senator Who Does Nothing, Earn More Than A Doctor – Reno Omokiri

Nigerian Author and Lawyer, Reno Omokiri has again called on the government, urging them to increase
and improve the working conditions for health workers in Nigeria.

According to Reno, the world is in full demand of more health professionals and Nigeria might soon lose theirs to other countries after the pandemic, if they are not given better conditions.

Here's what he wrote;
“I STRONGLY encourage the Nigerian government to immediately increase the pay and improve the conditions of service for Nigerian health professionals, because after the CoronaVirus pandemic is over, there will be a scramble for health workers, and we may lose them to countries that will treat them better.

“Western nations, and even Middle Eastern countries, will lower requirements, and make it easy for them to get relocation visas.

“The next exodus from Nigeria will be the brain drain of our health workers. We can’t stop it. But we can mitigate it by providing them better conditions of service now. Why should a Senator, who basically is a liability, earn more than a Chief Medical Director?”
