Lockdown: Residents Cry Out As Pots Of Soup Now Mysteriously Go Missing

As measures taken by the Ebonyi state government to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus stiffens, crime has
been on the increase.

The Police Command in the state confirmed it yesterday, attributing the increase in criminal activities to the lockdown and banning of commercial motorcycle in the state.

DSP Loveth Odah, the Police Public Relation Officer revealed the information during a briefing session with journalists, adding that they have beefed up security around the state. Odah assured journalists of the police preparedness to protect and arrest anyone found terrorizing Ebonyi residents.

Here's what she said in part;

“We received report of a stolen pot of soup and Jollof rice. A woman was cooking and went inside to take something and on coming out, her pot of soup was stolen and this shows that there is hunger in the land.

“People in Ebonyi don’t believe COVID-19 is real and some residents in the rural areas are even celebrating it.”
