    ASUU STRIKE UPDATE



                                    THE ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES
    Today the 26th of August 2017 the National Executive Council (NEC) is holding a regards the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in this meeting it will be decided if the union can stop and allow workers to resume .




    word from the cordinator “I must state that the offer from the Federal Government is a far cry from our members’ expectations. Let us see what comes out of this emergency NEC meeting. Many of our members are not happy with the way government is handling our demands. It is up to NEC to take a position on the on-going strike. Our members are prepared for a long strike, but it depends on the government.”


    Asuu embarked on the strike on the 14th of August 2017 because the failed to fufill the terms of agreement signed in 2009 and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).


    He clearly stated that they only told the governmnet that they will sit and decide , and not that they where going to hold back , but after the meeting today we will see where it leads ...
