Man Kills Mother’s Goat, Burns Her Bed After Taking ‘Mkpuru Mmiri’ In Ebonyi

A young man simply identified as Monday has reportedly killed his mother’s goat, shortly after taking a hard drug in Ebonyi State.

The 25-year-old man was said to have taken mkpuru mmiri (Crystal meth) and immediately after he did, started acting strangely.

 According to reports, the incident which happened in Ishieke, left onlookers in confusion, as the young man, after killing his mother’s goat, proceeded to burn her mattress. 

 An eyewitness who pled anonymity told reporters that it took the effort of able-bodied men in the community for him to be held down and tied for days, before the effect of the hard drug subsided. Mkpuru Mmiri as it is called in Igbo land or Methamphetamine Hydrochloride is a dangerous and highly addictive drug that has taken the lives of many users. 

 When taken at first, Meth causes a rush of good feelings, but then users feel edgy, overly excited, angry, or afraid.

 According to NDLEA, the drug which recently found its way into Nigeria, is already sending youths to an early grave.
