Youths Kill All Pets, Livestock Seen On The Street, As Oba Of Ifaki Dies

According to reports, youths were seen on Saturday, December 5, killing all pets and livestock seen on the streets, following the death of His Royal Majesty Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti.

It was learnt that the practice is a traditional rite performed whenever an Oba dies in Ifaki, Ekiti State.

According to the social media user who shared the pictures, the Oba joined his ancestors on Saturday, prompting the hunt for the animals.

Lots of slaughtered animals were piled up in the pictures the source shared online as people wondered what the youth would do with the dead animals.

Many social media users condemned the act, straining that it was barbaric, others simply just wanted to know if the animals would be eaten.
