This Was A Bomb Blast – Nigerians React To Death Toll Of Lagos Gas Explosion

Death Toll increases as Henrietta Alokha, an administrator at Bethlehem Girls College, Abule Ado, also lost her
life in the explosion which occurred on Sunday morning.

Also a newly married pregnant woman, Chisom Udoakonobi, who was a first class graduate, and her husband also died in the explosion.

A mass celebration was reportedly ongoing in the school when the incident happened and Alokha was said to be among those who assisted trapped students to escape from the scene but when it was time for her to leave, she could not make it out alive.

The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) put the death toll at 17 as of Sunday evening.

Reactions have since trailed the alleged gas explosion as some people are of the opinion that the explosion was too violent and destructive to be just a gas explosion. Some have called the Sunday explosion that rocked Lagos a bomb blast.
