[Video] Nursing Mother, Publicly Disgraced For Stealing Garri in Delta

A yet to be identified woman, who is reportedly nursing a child has been publicly humiliated by hundreds of
youths, women and children in Owheologbo, Isoko North Area of Delta State for allegedly stealing half bag of garri.

According to report made, the incident happened on Tuesday morning in the Isoko community. The woman who is reportedly an indigene of Ozoro, stole the half sack of Garri and attempted to run away with it before she was caught.

As seen in the video clip, She was made to carry the stolen bag of garri on her head and dance around the community, as the mob sang and drummed for her as a punishment for stealing.

Pleading anonymity, a community leader who was contacted, condemned the actions of the mob. He expressed sympathy for the woman, as he felt the humiliation she suffered was more than what she stole.

“This is a sign that these are trying times and petty stealing of such nature is caused by hunger in the land,” he added.
