The United Kingdom (UK) on Sunday, December 12, replied the federal government of Nigeria, reiterating that its travel ban on Nigeria stands.
The first tier country made this decision known through the spokesman of the British High Commission, Dean Hurlock.

It would be recalled that the Federal government on Saturday, concluded plans to place Canada, Saudi Arabia, Argentina and the United Kingdom on a red list over the outbreak and spread of Coronavirus' Omicron variant.
The Nigerian government said in addition to adding them to the red list, it will also stop airlines from those countries coming into Nigeria in retaliation.
Hurlock however noted that not even the federal government’s latest retaliation move can force it to change its resolve in leaving Nigeria in the list of nations banned from entering UK’s borders.
He explained that the UK had made it clear that the travel ban will be different for the year as the government sticks to its “standard background lines.”
