“I Was Never Arrested By The EFCC” — FFK Says After 6 Hours In Detention

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has dismissed reports that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after six grueling hours in their custody.

It would be recalled that Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman of EFCC, when contacted, confirmed that Fani-Kayode was arrested and held at the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency under an open investigation for alleged manipulation and forgery of documents.

 Femi Fani-Kayode, who was detained by the commission from 2pm on Tuesday, to about 8:30pm, said he was invited and flew to Lagos to see the anti-graft agency.

 The former minister, who after his release, promptly strolled into the George Hotel to have dinner claimed that after six hours, the agency granted him bail on “self recognition”, adding that the operatives were polite and professional. Taking to his Instagram account to share pictures of himself at the hotel, he wrote;

 “Just arrived at the George Hotel for dinner. I was never arrested by the EFCC. I was invited & I flew down to Lagos to see them. I arrived in their office at 2.00pm & left at 8.30pm. I was granted bail on self recognition. They were very polite & professional. Thanks be to God.”
