Runtown, Burna Boy, Others React As Omah Lay And Tems Get Arrested In Uganda


Runtown, Burna Boy and some other Nigerian celebrities have reacted, following the arrest and remand of music acts, Omah Lay and Tems who are currently in prison for violating COVID-19 safety rules in Uganda.

The duo were arrested, alongside their managers on Sunday, December 13, for holding an illegal concert at Ddungu resort in Munyonyo where a huge crowd showed up for their performance in spite of the President's directives to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Ugandan police announced that Omah Lay and Ms Tems will remain in the custody of the East African country’s police till Wednesday, December 16 for their court hearing. 

This was after they were arraigned before the Makindye Division court in Kampala on Monday. 

However, Nigerian celebrities have taken to their social media pages to call for the release of the artistes.

Some of the celebrities who reacted were; Burna Boy, Peter Okoye, Mr. Macaroni, Runtown, Rema, DJ Spinall, Tacha, Teni, Do2tun, Fireboy DML, Laycon, and a host of others.
