Benson Donates Cash Gifts To 120 Traders In Ikorodu


The house of representative member ,Honorable Babajimi Adegoke Benson , who is representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency
has donated some cash gifts to 120 traders in Ikorodu to help them raised their businesses.

 The lawmaker, on Sunday presented the cash to market women at his constituency Office Igbogbo, Lagos, noting that the money will no doubt improve their various businesses. From reliable sources , this is the second time Hon. Benson is giving the free of charge money to traders in his constituency. He said" :

"The motive behind this is to assist the petty traders whose goods are two thousand to five thousands naira. We see them all around Ikorodu and with this pandemic, things have been very difficult for them. So It's just a way of reaching out to them to return and buy more goods".

"The money is for them to invest and give back to the society, particularly in this very trailing times. However, my advice for the recipients is to buy more inventory, so that it will cushioning the effect of the lockdown that everyone is facing and equally expand their trades," Benson said. While alluding to the fact that the gesture was the second time, the lawmaker said beyond the 120 traders being supported, all the six local councils of Ikorodu Division had been touched.

 “The message remains the same. We are committed to good and quality representation of Ikorodu Division. I thank the leadership and members of the market traders association that are benefitting from this support initiative. It is my expectation that this grant will be of benefit to your various businesses,” Benson added. ,

Also the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Danni, applauded Hon. Babajimi Benson for his uncommon leadership style, urging the recipients to utilise the free money judiciously. "I'm happy to witness and be part of this goodwill that is happening," Daini said.

In the same vein, the DG, iCARE foundation, Mayor Muyideen Sanwoola, reiterated that the fund given to the market women are not loan but freewill money without refund. "I urge the recipients to use the money for the expansion of their businesses," Sanwoola advised.

 Alhaja Taofikat Abiodun Allison, the Iyaloja general of Ikorodu Division, equally thanked Benson for this gesture, urging the market petty traders that have benefitted to invest with it and use the money wisely. Jimi Benson has really made us proud in Ikorodu and there is nothing we are going to do than to continue praying for him to succeed and do more," she said.

 One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Mosurat Taofeek of Losioba market, thanked Hon Babajimi Benson for his love and care to market traders. "I am very happy because the money is not a loan but a free of charge grant, and I pray that may Almighty God bless Jimi Benson beyond his imagination," she said.
