Again, Gunmen Attack Zamfara, Kidnap 3 Women, Babies

A fresh attack took place in Dareta village, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara state as some gunmen have
reportedly abducted three housewives and their babies.

This is coming barely 24 hours after unknown gunmen kidnapped two sons of a former commissioner in Zamfara, Bello Dankande, and two others.

It was gathered that the gunmen arrived the village at about 1:00am on Wednesday, August 19, and shot sporadically into the air before taking off with their victims.

The Zamfara Police Command had earlier confirmed the abduction of two sons of the former commissioner, a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC), and one other person.

According to SP Muhammad Shehu, the spokesperson of the command, the ex-commissioner’s sons were kidnapped at his residence in Gamji, Bakura Local Government Area of the state, on Tuesday.

“At about 4:30am, a large number of armed men invaded the house and kidnapped two of his children and two others including an NSCDC officer on guard duty at the house.

“One person was shot dead while a woman was wounded in the process. The command has deployed its operatives to search and rescue the victims,” Shehu had said.
