Recall that an elderly man was reportedly killed by Fulani Herdsmen in Oguta Local Government Area, Imo State.

In a gory video, the deceased could be seen lying lifeless in a farmland with a deep cut at the back of his head which connects to his neck, while residents of the community lamented and expressed grief over the attack.

As regards to the old man's death at the hands of the foreigners, the Imo State Government is yet to react to it and the menace continues.

It’s not clear however, what the motive for the attack on the Herdsmen was, but the State Governor has blamed opposition parties for the development, threatening hail and brimstone on the unknown Assailants.
Confirming the incident, the state police public relations officer (PPRO), Mr. Orlando Ikeokwu, said three herdsmen were sleeping in a spot when the assassins struck. He said one of them escaped while two were killed.

Governor Uzodimma in reacting to the killings said some politicians who were sponsoring inter ethnic hate in the state may have sponsored the attack to create bad blood and stoke ethnic tensions in the state so as to destabilize the government.

He warned that security agencies were investigating such people and that they will soon be exposed and brought to book.
