We Are Tired Of Igbos, Let Them Go – Northerners Tell Presidency

Following the press Statement released on Sunday by Garba Shehu, the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, which revealed that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were waging war against the Nigerian state internationally.

To salvage any damage IPOB might have done, President Muhammadu Buhari quickly petitioned the International Community on Monday, June 8, over the activities of IPOB and Biafra campaigns.

Advising the International community to ignore this campaign as; “they have disregarded similar past campaigns originated by the group which has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the Nigerian State.” 

However, reacting to Garba Shehu’s outbursts, some Northerners have urged Nigerian government to allow igbos (Biafrans) be on their own if that will solve the problem of the country. 

Here's what one Audu Garba said; “Garba shehu tell the president that we the northern talakawas are tired of living in one country with igbos. So the best thing is to set up time frame for the Biafran independence.

“Just give them 6 months to relocate all their wealth to South east. By first January 2021, national assembly should seat and give final blessing to what is call Nigeria with igbos. This is the only solution to this problem.”

Many other northerners supported the idea, noting that it was the best course of action to take.
