Parrot Arrested For Alerting Drug Dealers That Police Were Coming

In Brazil According to reports, a parrot who warned two alleged drug dealers that Police were coming to arrest them, was taken into custody after it nearly foiled the undercover drug raid in Brazil.

Brazilian media, Oliberal, reports that when the parrot spotted police officers coming to its owners’ Teresina, Brazil, home, it squawked; “Mama, Police!” in Portuguese.

However, despite the bird’s efforts to tip off its owners, a man and a woman, they were both arrested. NBC reports says drugs, including marijuana and crack were reportedly found at the property, as well as very large sums of money.

Since its arrest, the parrot has remained loyal, and has refused to talk, Police said.

Authorities believe the parrot was trained to spot Police cars. Meanwhile, the bird is now being kept at a zoo in Teresina, a city in northeastern Brazil.
