71-Year-Old Farmer Punches Wife To Death In Ondo

Tragedy occurred at Idanre town in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, when a farmer, identified as Eric
Olowokande allegedly beat his wife to death.

Olowokande, who is 71 years old was arrested by the men of the Ondo State Police Command on Monday for committing the offence during a heated argument that ensued between him and the victim, who was identified only as Mojere.

Eyewitness revealed that immediately Olowokande realized what he had done, he ran into the bush to escape being arrested by the police but luck ran out on him and he was later arrested by a team of policemen.

Here's what the eyewitness said;
“There was a hot argument between the man (suspect) and his wife and the argument led to fisticuffs. The man started punching the wife until she fell down and became unconscious.

“Immediately after that, she was rushed to the hospital but it was at the hospital that the doctor confirmed her dead.”

The eyewitness added that the remains of the victim had been deposited at the General Hospital in Idanre.

Confirming the incident, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, the Public Relations Officer of the police command said;

“The suspect is already in our custody and we have begun investigation into the matter. After the investigation is completed, he would be charged to court.”
