Two Man O’war Officials Fight Dirty, One Dies Over N1000 Debt

A Man O’war volunteer identified as Toyeeb Daodu has been arrested by the Police for allegedly beating his
colleague, Ibrahim Aliu, to death in Ope-Ilu, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

It was learnt that the incident occurred around 7pm on Thursday following an altercation that ensued between the duo over the sum of N1,000.

19 year old Daodu, had reportedly borrowed the said amount of money from Ibrahim Aliu some days ago but failed to pay back the debt as promised, which in turn, prompted Daodu to mount pressure on him.

It was revealed that Aliu had gone to ask for the money when he met Daodu at a bus stop in the area, who angrily, settled the debt. After giving him the money, he reportedly asked Aliu to leave his presence, but the latter declined. The suspect, however resorted to violence, punching Aliu hard on the chest. The victim fell to the ground and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Here's what an eyewitness disclosed;
“It was money that led to this tragedy. The suspect owed the victim N1,000 which he did not return on time. Because the victim was pestering him, he paid the money in anger.

“They were both at a bus stop that evening. He asked the victim to leave after paying the debt. In the ensuing argument, he pummelled the young man who became unconscious immediately and died afterwards. They were both Man O’War volunteers.”
