Sabo Market Fire: What You Didn't Know About Previous Fire Outbreaks In Nigeria

Fire has engulfed Sabo market in Sagamu, Ogun State early this Tuesday morning. According to the video, the
inferno is serious and goods worth millions of naira is already being destroyed.

As of the time of filling this report, there was no firefighters at the scene and the fire was yet to be put out.

This is not the only fire that has happened recently in the country. There's been fire outbreaks in different parts of the nation, it's becoming alarming.

For instance, on January 25, only 3 days ago, Properties worth billions of naira were destroyed in a fire outbreak which gutted the building materials sections of Amu market in Mushin, Lagos State.

Eyewitness said that the fire started around 12:27 am from a spot in the market and spread to other buildings and other shops. Cause of the fire is still unknown.

On January 19, a Sunday night, Three persons were confirmed dead in the fire outbreak that occurred at the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State. It was reported that a pipeline leakage led to the fire incident that forced residents of the area scamper to safety. Seven buildings, including a hotel was completely destroyed by the fire.

On January 3rd, It was a black day for the people of Iwoukpom community in Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as a fire outbreak destroyed about 2,000 houses and rendered over 4, 500 people homeless in the state.

According to reports, the fire incident started at about 12:30 a.m and property worth millions of naira were destroyed.

Also on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019, the popular Balogun Market, Idumota, Lagos had it's own share of fire outbreaks. The fire incident affected two-storey buildings at No. 43, Martins Street, in the market where properties worth millions of naira were lost.

There has been so many other fire occurrences to the point that people are beginning to question the cause of these fires, especially since they are so frequent.
