According to him, the service was not a lawless organisation and would never obstruct justice or disobey court orders. He promised full commitment of the service to do the needful when the appropriate processes are carried out for Sowore’s release.
In the reports made by News Agency of Nigeria, Omoyele Sowore was arrested on the 3rd of August, over allegation that he was leading a group known as 'Revolution Now' on a protest in the country.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court who prevailed on the case on the 4th of October, granted him bail in the sum N100 million with two sureties in the like sum.

The court ordered that N50 million of the amount be deposited with the court while the balance be put in place should Sowore jump bail. Justice Ojukwu had said that Omoyele's sureties must deposit documents of landed properties in Abuja and tax clearance certificates for three years, 2016 to 2018.

However, on the 21st of October, the Court reviewed the bail conditions and waived the earlier requirement that Sowore must deposit N50m as security.
