MKO Abiola's Personal Doctor, Ore Falomo Has Passed Away



Ore Falomo, who used to be MKO Abiola's personal doctor, has been reported dead. According to reports, he died today, 9th November 2019, in Lagos.

The Doctor was a close ally to the late Yoruba leader and philanthropist. Reports from the Nation newspaper indicates that Dr. Ore Falomo, a personal physician to the the late acclaimed winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Mashood Kashimawo Abiola, is dead.

The newspaper also reported that sources at his Maryland, Lagos hospital, said he died around 2am in the morning after a brief illness. It was learnt that the distinguished doctor had many prestigious Nigerians, top military leaders, business men, diplomats and monarchs as his clients.

Reports also had it that the deceased was subjected to a sort of psychological torture by the military, which denied him access to the detained winner of June 12, 1993 presidential poll.

More reports that came to notice was that, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, the late human rights lawyer, picked a fight with the renowned doctor who was, though, permitted to briefly see Abiola but without any medical tool.
Dr. Falomo was a great friend to the now late Chief Abiola and his family held him in high esteem.

Meanwhile, some reports have been carried that one of the sons of the then military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, admitted the impact of the cancellation of the results of the June 12 election on his father.

According to the said reports, the son, whose name is Mohammed Babangida said that he and the rest of their family expressed deep surprise when his father informed them that he had annulled the election.

Mohammed said his father had replied him, saying;

"You are too young to understand the intrigues of governance...perhaps, this is something that will haunt me for the rest of my life."
