Palm Oil Adulteration: EFCC Arrests 26 Suspects

26 suspects have been arrested by the EFCC Gombe zonal office for the production and sales of adulterated palm oil in the Gombe main market.



The suspects were arrested while in the process of mixing palm oil with the said harmful substances.

These people produce palm oil by mixing it with unknown liquid substances to increase both quantity and profit as they sell it as genuine palm oil in the main market.

Prior to this, a total of 33 shops have been closed and their businesses shut down, pending thorough investigation.

Names of the Suspects are: Mohammed Abubakar, Nasiru Bappa, Yahaya Sanusi, Bello Ahmed, Emeka Oppah, Auwalu Abubakar, Theophilus Samuel, Mohammed Umar, Chindo Garba, Monday John, Dauda Mohammed, Hamisu Mohammed, Umar Friday, Abbayo Musa, Anas Musa C, Ali Garba, Tukur Adamu, Inuwa Auwal, Ahmad Usman, Emmanuel Etuk, Auwal Iliya, Ejike Samuel, Peter Ndubuisi, Usman Musa, Giginna Alphonsus and Babangida Yerima.

They have all been handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for further probing and possible prosecution.
